Gemini is a mutable air sign. Some people feel that Gemini is a sign of neither a positive nor negative polarity. This is the sign of the twins, Castor and Pollux, who are the two sides of one personality. In Gemini the restless intelligence of air is combined with the adaptability of the mutable nature. Gemini is ruled by Mercury which emphasizes communication. Geminis are versatile, sometimes witty, logical, inquisitive, spontaneous and talkative. Unfortunately, they also tend to be nervous, restless, superficial and inconsistent. The metal of Gemini is Quicksilver (Mercury) which has not shape of its own. Try to hold it and it flows through your fingers. So does the elusive Gemini.
